Salon Etiquette
• When booking an appointment please inform me of any health issues, medical conditions, pregnancy or allergies to ensure that the treatments requested are suitable and safe for you.
• If you are having a pedicure treatment, please remember to bring flip-flops so your shiny new nails will not get smudged.
Cancellation Policy - Your appointments are very important to us, they are reserved especially for you, we understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 12 hours notice for cancellations. Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. Since the services are reserved for you personally, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply.
Aftercare Advice
Your comfort is our main concern. Please find below all the necessary aftercare advice specific to each treatment that we offer, following the aftercare advice will enable you to get the best possible results for the longest possible time.
Please read the advice below that is relevant to your treatment(s). Please note, however, that this advice is not a substitute for the advice of a medical professional, but merely a guide to help you get the best from your treatment(s) with us.

Facial Aftercare:
Where possible please ensure that you:
Always cleanse, tone and moisturise your face twice daily to prevent loss of moisture, protection of the skin and to help keep the skin soft and supple
Drink plenty of water (recommended 6-8 glasses per day)
Avoid wearing make-up for at least 6-8 hours after a facial treatment
Do not have any other facial skincare treatments within 48 hours of your facial
Avoid sunbathing for up to 12 hours
Avoid direct heat (intense sunlight & sunbeds) and indirect heat (sauna, hot bath, shower) for 24-48 hours after treatment
Do not apply perfume or perfumed products to the treated area within 24-48 hours
Do not exfoliate for 72 hours after your facial
Eyebrow/Eyelash Treatment Aftercare -
**N.B. A patch test must be undertaken 24 hours before tinting
Do not put in contact lenses for the rest of the day if possible
Avoid heat treatments (direct/indirect) for upto 24 hours
Avoid perfumed products for 24hrs
Avoid sunbathing / swimming / sauna for upto 24 hours, as this can fade the tint
Do not apply make-up or receive any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after your treatment if possible
Do not touch the area treated
Oil-based makeup removers can cause the tint to fade faster - check your products before using
Effect duration
Effects will start to diminish within 4-6 weeks as hair grows out
Eyelash colour will last four to six weeks and eyebrow colour 2-4 weeks
Eyebrow Shaping Aftercare Advice
***Please note, it is completely normal to see slight redness after your treatment, especially for sensitive skins. That redness usually goes down after the first couple of hours.
You should avoid the following for 24 hours after treatment where possible:
Sauna, steam room and hot tubs to avoid infection as pores may still be open
UV exposures, as hyperpigmentation might occur
Swimming, as irritation might occur
Perfumed products/fragrances, can cause irritation
Sunbeds
Apply a cold compress and / or antiseptic cream, such as Aloe Vera, to calm and soothe redness (if required).
Aftercare for Manicures and Pedicures
For manicures
Leave adequate time after your treatment for your nails to dry
Where possible wear protective gloves when gardening, or doing housework
Use hand cream regularly
Always use a base coat under (unless you are using Vinylux)polish to prevent staining, and top coat to prevent chipping
Never use metal files
Avoid harsh and drying soaps
For pedicures
For pedicures, wear open toe shoes, preferably flip flops or sandals if possible
Apply moisturising lotion to the feet after bathing
Apply talc or special foot powder between the toes to help absorb moisture, if needed
For both manicures & pedicures
Use a cuticle cream or oil daily to help moisturise dry cuticles
Use an acetone-free nail polish remover, as this is gentler on the nail
We recommend that you have a professional manicure or pedicure every 2-4 weeks for maintenance
Shellac Manicure & Pedicure Aftercare Advice
Use cuticle oil every night (just before going to bed). This will nourish the root of the natural nail and should help to produce stronger nails
Where possible use protective gloves for housework, gardening, and DIY etc. as household chemicals will strip nails and skin of natural oils and may affect the look and condition
Moisturise your skin daily
Do not use your nails as tools, you will chip your polish
Be careful when using suntan oils/creams or insect repellents, as some contain solvents which may cause damage to the polish
Do not pick off polish, as this will remove the upper layer of your natural nails and may cause damage and flaking of the nail
Have the polish professionally removed
Aftercare for Massage
Please could we ask that you read the guidance notes below carefully if you have booked in for a massage session with Tranquil Soul Beauty Therapies Ltd.
The following advice should be taken following a massage:
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours, as massage is a detoxifying treatment
Drink plenty of water to assist in the elimination of toxins from the body
Avoid a heavy meal for at least 2 hours after treatment, this gives the body time to detoxify and aid in the healing process.
Rest whenever possible, you may feel tired after your treatment
Gentle exercise – postural exercises can help with muscle tension as well as exercises that will assist with mobility.
There are a few Contra-actions (healing) you should be aware of
Occasionally, you may experience any of the following reactions up to 24-48 hours after treatment; this is known as a contra-action and is the body’s response to the treatment:
Headache
Dizziness or nausea
Disrupted sleeping pattern
Muscles may feel tired and achy
Increased urination or passing stools
Increased thirst
Fatigue
These reactions are perfectly normal and show that toxins are being expelled from the body, so that it may re-balance and cleanse itself.
If you have any concerns, please contact the salon or your GP if you feel that you require medical assistance.
Waxing Aftercare
After your waxing treatment, please note, some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first waxing. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours.
Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 12-24 hours
Have lukewarm showers/baths
Avoid direct or indirect heat
Avoid fake tans
Wear loose fitting clothes
Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools

Glossary of Terms
Microdermabrasion - A mechanical exfoliation that gradually removes the top three layers of the epidermis, painlessly and safely.
Microcurrent - Non-surgical face lift treatment to reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and will tone and firm muscle fibre.
Ultrasound - Tightens and smooths skin by increasing cell regeneration, collagen production and the removal of fine lines and wrinkles.
LED Light Therapy - Using red, blue, and infrared light to treat various skin conditions including problematic acne, irritated and sensitised skin, ageing as well as inflammation and joint pain.
Galvanic - Two currents available - Iontophoresis (+) to introduce water soluble ingredients into the skin.
Desincrustation - to cleanse the skin of excess sebum, dirt and dead skin cells.
